I want a Labret Piercing.....how bad is the swelling afterwards??? and how long does it last?

Mine wasn't too bad.. The majority of it will subside within a couple of weeks, but whilst your body is getting used to the fact there is a piece of metal through the lip, the skin directly around the piercing will be quite firm for a few months...

Hi there, I had my labret done yesteday and the swelling is not that bad. I have a large bottom lip so I have a higher risk of the swelling covering the plate in my mouth and needing a larger piercing if this happens. As for the piercing its not that painful I felt the needle pop in and out and that was it the only thing that I found strange was having the bar in my lip but I will get use to that, so if you have a thin bottom lip you should be ok just make sure you clean it outside with boiling sea salt water and inside with mouthwash and do not play with the ring/stud and your likley to get infections

ive been watching a lot of youtube videos of people getting their lip done and some piercers in the videos say the swelling should start going away in a couple days and with ice it should stop pretty quick
