I see acute water scarcity. Nations are fighting over,whatever water is left. People using mineral oils to clean their bodies. Their skin is wrinkled, even of young ones. Ozone layer is almost gone,there are colonies in the form of bubbles to protect people from ultra violet rays & other cosmic rays. Great & beautiful coastal cities of today,are under water now. Sky is no more blue, because atmosphere is having smog,fog & smoke. Is it is scary? How can I be so depressive on the eve of New year? But We have to correct our activities(Industry,civic what so ever)- other wise...... Happy New Year to u nini3601 & I am now going to have some fun, after writing such a jerk of the things.

Humans will go longer into space. We will probably also find life on other planets than the Earth. Even if we or them probablu will not go to each other, we will probably have contact with remote controlled spaceprobes (like the Voyager).

Either human beings will no longer exist, or we will have overcome most of the problems that beset us today, and the future ones we are not even aware of yet.

AD 3000 will probably not see humans! At the rate things are going war wise and over growing populations, we'll either be all gone or ruining another healthy planet somewhere in the universe!

We will have adopted a very eco-friendly approach and all cities will be covered with greenery. Traffic will be all air based and the ground will be used only for walking or biking. We will have vehicles that fly like in the 5th element but big cities will be phased out as man will try to live in harmony with nature and he will have mastered cold fusion for energy and all fossil fuels will be phased out. Starvation, war crime, most medical problems will be a thing of the past. Poverty will be unknown and personal achievement will be the driving force in people's lives as opposed to financial gain. Naturally there will be no more taxes and all countries will be integrated into one peaceful union and most likely English will be the world language. We will maintain population control and in fact there will only be 3 billion people on the earth as we have reclaimed most deserts and returned the planet to a pristine Utopian state.
