Freemasonry has existed for nearly 300 years. Over those years, millions upon millions of men from all walks of life have been members. Active participation in a Masonic Lodge builds leadership and organizational skills, and the Lodge tends to draw natural leaders to it as members, as do other Fraternal Organizations. Many of these men would've succeeded in their personal and public lives anyways, had Freemasonry never existed. It is true that many men of prominence, past or present, have been or are Freemasons. In the United States, we have have had 14 presidents who were Freemasons, numerous Congressmen and State Governors, Actors, Musicians, Scientists, etc. We have far more members who are known only to their families and the members of their local lodge, or perhaps mildly well known in the small town they live in, than the small percentage who enjoy great success outside of the Lodge. We are proud of each and every member who enjoys success in life, be it on a local scale, or a national or global scale.
