I have a 97sATURN SL1 the check engine light is on and when I accelerate it starts to sputter and the chekc engine light blinks. Where should I start?

Take your car to a large auto parts store. A lot of them have the tool to read the engine codes and will do it for free.

Neither one of these answers are correct. I had the same problem with mine when the light blinks it means that your Catalytic Converter is clogged and needs to be replaced. I'll garauntee that it has an extreme loss of power when accelerating. Just replace the converter and it will run fine.
