I sympathize... I give an inch and folks take a mile. If I see a red light ahead, I will let people out in front of me to be nice but sometimes a whole mess of cars will take advantage of my kindness. I don't consider myself as a "good samaritian"... just showing a random act of goodness.

Drivers should ignore those who are on the sidelines in normal traffic. Their job is to watch for a hole and take it, your job is to get through the congested area with few delays. Just keep driving, don't block intersections and grab your opportunity when it is presented. That way we can all get along. But when you stop to allow cars to enter when they can wait 30 more seconds to get behind you, you start a chain reaction traffic jam that ripples backward for miles. Shame on you good Samaritans.
