I really understand this question well! I love giving an honest and caring answer only to be ridiculed and downrated for doing so! Personally, I am appreciative of every answer that is given to me on AB.

Some people only want a forum for their own ideas; an excuse to argue a point. The trick is to figure out which questions are like that and avoid them. We can't make them go away, but we can turn a blind eye to them and let them sit in the corner alone while we go on to find questions that are really questions. Most people care about the answers they give. Try to understand that the help you offer is not diminished by the ding dongs who are playing a selfish game.
