split each of the 9 gears.or drive it like a 9 speed and split the last gear.with practice you will learn how to shift depending on the load terrain etc.you can skip gears when empty or bobtailing.

first, you'll need alot of practice, but basically this is what you do... your shifter will have 2 splitters on it, 1 to change from high and low range and 1 to split each gear. so if you have 9 speed transmission and split each gear twice, this gives you 18. your low range gears would be 1st-5th and high range would be 6th-9th each being split for 18.
