I know there is an industrial spray to remove cig. smoke I can't remember the name but it is used in motels/hotels etc.

clean ashtray before u exit the car, when u park in a sunny place and the car is closed the heat makes the smell worse consider cleaning your car at a gaz station , from the inside , and out those special scents they sell at the supermarkets, best ones are the citrus or pine ... and last but not least do not smoke in the car

Use Coffee grounds (fresh and uncooked) spread just a little on the floor to start and then add as needed. This would be for heavy smoke smells. If you have cloth seats try Frabreeze pump spray.
