If that engine was offered in that model year then it means that the engine bay is big enough to absorb it. Make sure that the transmission you have in the truck now was offered with the bigger engine. Bigger engine = more torque which could mean a ripped tranny. Also you may require some ECU changes among other adjustments. As long as you know what to do it should be ok. I think I remember seeing 5.4 V8 F-150s in that model year so you should be in the clear. Best of luck.
