  • They're like spunges, and soak up every word you have...in a way it seems some don't realize yet they have a choice to listen or not, so they listen anyways...that's what i've noticed
  • I've found that they have selective hearing. They hear what they want, when they want. Usually when they aren't supposed to hear. When they are supposed to hear, all of a sudden its like, "Huh?".
  • I don't know. but it doesnt get any better. i still have selective hearing!
  • Children learn extremely fast. They learn not only by listening to absolutely everything they hear, but by watching everything they see and copying everything around them. Children sponge up everything around them, including everything they hear.
  • Because they are not all full of themselves as yet...adults tend to not listen because they are formulating their "bon mots", "clever rejoinders", "smart repartee"..they are so enthralled with the mechanics of their brains figuring how to one-up the person talking, they seldom hear anything except the pause..which is when they jump in and launch their attack. Kids hang in with you, listen to you, and respond accordingly...it is the rare adult who will listen long enough to give a cogent, coherent and on-point answer! :(
  • Probably because they have less preconceived ideas about the world around them. They want to learn and are eager because they seek to know more. That is why they are asking,Who,What,Where,When,How,Why,etc. As we get older we seem to learn less if we start to close our minds to ideas just because we think we know it all.Learning for adults is not harder because it is harder to remember but more of that fact that we prefer not to listen, because of a habit of closing our mind to new and different ideas, so therefore not learn as when being a child.
  • Children are generally curious and want to learn new things.
