My playstation 3 will not connect or aknowledge an the IP address when I put the ethernet cable from my modem directly into the console. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix this problem?

if you have roadrunner or dsl then setup up wireless. for help on this go to pages 22-28 in your Quick Reference Playstaion 3 Book. (it shouldve came with the ps3) if it still cannot get the ip adress try moving the ps3 closer or moving the t.v. and the ps3 to a room closer to the modem. if you have aol or netzero then im not sure how to help. also if you want to use the ethernet cable then go to ps3 main screen and go to setting and then network settings. then just follow pages 22-28 in the Quick Reference Playstaion 3 Book.

When i plug in the ethernet cable into the back of the playstation 3 from the router, and i try to sign in, it keeps on saying that they cannot connect the ethernet cable. The first time i tried it, it was working fine. Any suggestion to fix it?
