Hooray! I get to fly through a storm on the way to Japan this weekend... Anyone else having phantasms of horrific travel before Christmas?

I didnt know you can fly during a Storm..They usually cancel flights due to storms because i have had a couple Cancellations and delays. Well we were up in the air for about 2.5 hours longer than we were supposed to because they couldnt land due to a bad storm and they couldnt turn back around and go back to the Airport because it would have been worse

the pilot will fly over or around the storm if possible,you may get lucky and he will ok free drinks for everyone on board...don't worry just sit back and relax...

You'll get bumped around a bit. No big deal. Keep your seatbelt snug. I've been on planes so many times I've lost count, and have had my share of scary moments. I was on a plane once that could not lower it's landing gear so we bellied in (everyone was fine). I was on a plane another time that the pilot came on just before landing and said that we had to circle for a bit because to lost a wheel during take off and they had to prep the runway (everyone fine). I was in a plane that dropped about 1500 feet in less than a second. Anyone not buckled in hit the ceiling, but everyone was fine. Storms are nothing. Keep strapped in, rock out on your iPod, and sleep through it.

Really? I have to drive my girlfriend to the airport in a couple hours. She is going home to Japan.
