I answered my own question instead of commenting. Not enough coffee yet. How do I flag my own answer as nonsense?

I've seen some people who answer their own question. Don't see anything wrong with that.

We all answer are own question from time to time--usually accidentally. I post comments to answers in the answer field by mistake from time to time.

You can't flag your own answer as nonsense. The answer that you posted will stay there. In order to be deleted, you must modify your answer that asks for this answer to be deleted. Another user will then flag it, and it will be deleted.

1) you cannot flag your own questions and answers 2) Here is how you could resolve that problem: 1. Copy your "answer" this time as a comment in the right comment thread so it will not be deleted. (If it still makes sense) 2. If you have a good reason to answer your question, do it by replacing the text of your falsely given answer. 3. If not, replace the text of your answer with ";" and post a comment to that answer such as "Please flag as nonsense". It will be flagged sooner or later, and if not, it should also not be a problem.

You can edit the answer and ask somebody to flag it for you.
