  • There simply isn't a right or wrong answer to this question. If you're a runner, and I am now and have always been a runner, you like what you like. My personal preference now is New Balance although, when I ran cross-country in high school I preferred Adidas.
  • This is completely an opinion & I've been an avid runner for years. I can definitely say that it depends on what you are looking for, and indeed your tastes can change, here is what I find to be the the best & worst using the defining characteristics of running shoes ...and I've tried 'em all: Comfort- Reebok & Saucony(best), Adidas(worst...but still pretty comfortable) Duribility- Adidas(best), New Balance & Asics(worst) Light Weight- Saucony & Asics(lightest), Nike & Reebok(Heaviest) Support- Nike(best), Saucony(worst) Overall- Nike(best...Reebok & Saucony close 2nd & 3rd), New Balance( worst) This is just a generalization, obviously products come & go, New Balance has occasionally made a fine shoe, and similarly, Nike has made a few stinkers, but this is what I expect from the manufacturers when I purchase a new pair of running shoes. I'll buy anything if the price is right...hey, what can I say things go on sale, but bang for my buck it's Nike, they may do few things the best, but they do everything very well! There's not a wide margin from first to worst, I don't think any of the major manufacturers are notoriously horrible. You won't know how great of a shoe you had until it's worn out...and likely irreplacable as the model has been replaced.
  • To add to the already great answers, You haven't tried running shoes unless you've tried adidas climacool shoes! I ran on a cross country team way back in highschool and let me tell you, those were my favorite running shoes of my whole life! Not only did they have a very comfortable fit, they were designed to basically pump air into your foot. I ran a half marathon in them and my feet were dry and cool by the end of the race. If you are looking for a good pair of shoes for running I seriously recommend at least trying climacool brand shoes out!
  • There is only one right answer: Asics. I've tried on countles pairs of other shoes for my trainers, racing flats, and spikes and time after time asics proves to be the most comfortable and best performing shoe of the pack in all categories.
  • i've always heard Saucony and asics, personally adidas are the most comfortable to me.
  • There is only about 5 major manufacturers of running shoes and they are all in China. In other words the cheapest $15 running shoes are made in the same factory as Nike and others . Just the style and labels change not the quality,so it is a waste of money to pay for a logo.
  • It kind of depends on what you want in a shoe as they each offer something slightly different. I like to use Asics or New balance. Best thing is to try some different brands on and walk around the store or use their practice track. Some stores have pads connected to computers that analyze your arch, step, and foot size then give some suggestions.
  • I was in cross-country in highschool and my favorite brand of shoes was Brooks... They lasted a lot longer and never gave me blisters... I usually always got blisters with my new running shoes... But the brooks were the best... I strongly recommend... Asics are right there below brooks...
  • as unusual as my feet are, I have a few I can wear, and some that give me trouble, I get along well with Brooks, and I liked etonics, but they don't make running shoes any more... Try different ones. If you have friends who have similar sized feet; try ther feel of some of their shoes.. especilly ones that have been brokern in well. keek you r mind open to possibilities.
  • Brooks, they are kind of hard to find and expensive because they are pretty much only sold at specialty running shoe stores, but they are well worth the premium. You can find them at finish line if you have them in the mall or you can order them online. They specialize in running shoes and they seem to be the best to me. I have heard good things about Asics too, especially the 2000 series.
  • It depends on your foot. Brooks are the best for my arch, and I LOVE them. Look on the internet to see if there are any specialty running stores in your area- maybe Run On, or Luke's Locker. The assistants there watch you walk, look at your arch, and decide which shoe is gonna be the best for you.
  • mizuno....
  • Every top brand makes good running shoes and by that, I mean, (Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Nike, Pearl Izumi, Saucony). Everyone has their own preference to each brand and from research, I've noticed most runners prefer Saucony, Asics and New Balance. I personally prefer Saucony and Brooks because they focus mainly on running shoes. I had good experience with Asics too. If you try out various running shoes, I guaranteed you'll find one suitable for you and I guaranteed you will not like every shoe that brand makes. A friend of mine only runs in a specific Brooks style but can't adapt to other Brooks models.
