There is always a possibility even if it looked clean since you can't see the organisms that might have been on it. First question I would ask though is if your up to date on your Tetanus shot. Other then that make sure you probably dress the wound and if gets red, swollen or feels more tender (then the fact that a wire went through it), get medical help right away.

Yes, but the possibility of tetanus is the one you should be even more concerned about. See a doctor at the first sign of anything unusual.

It's very possible. Watch for redness and keep it clean!

you can watch for signs of infection such as the area getting red,warm and tender to touch (then you will need an antibiotic) so wash the entire area with antibacterial soap and apply some type of antibiotic ointment like neosporin several times daily....but if it's been over 5 yrs since you've had a tetnus booster then you need to have 1!
