Where can I get silencer pads for a childs drum kit? Can I just cut down a set from an adult kit? (10" snare/tom 12" floor tom & 16" bass)

For my daughter's drum set, i just cut down a set from an adult kit. that is what the guy at the music shoppe suggested as well.
