Silver isn't a true color. It is a mixing of black and white with possible additions of other colors. Black and white are called achromatic colors, although black is caused by the complete absorption of light rays, white by the reflection of all the rays that produce color SO gray (and silver) is caused by an imperfect absorption of all these rays.

ok-I think in water color black and white are rarely used to make gray......I'm thinking that "Paynes gray added to a ultramine blue in very small doses may give the color you are looking for. White in water color is rarely used---water being the medium to achieve 'lightness'
