    The higher your skill level rating, the more games you have to win to win a match. A '7' playing a '2' would have to win 7 games before the '2' won 2 games in order to win the match. A pair of 7's play a race to 5. There are a number of factors that affect a player's rating including number of innings, safety play, and the rating of opponents played.

    Other leagues use different handicapping systems. Contact the BCA, VNEA, ... for details. A simple, fair, free system is available on-line at http://www.TheBilliardList.Com/ -- search for NPL.
