Would you ever trade your engagement ring in for a bigger diamond/different setting?

Why would you want to? It was a very serious, heartfelt and life changing step that was taken. I would not change the ring or the setting. Maybe add to it? But not to change it altogether. I would be afriad, after the fact, that I wouldn't like the new setting or regret replacing it and then all could be lost.

Trade it, no. Get another diamond in addition to, sure!
