Yes it has a trap door in the front directly behind the front bumper. By turing a screw on the door I believe to the right the door will open and there you will fine the filter and after replacing the filter close the door and turn the screw to the left to lock.
For a 2wd vehicle it is located on the block next to the oil pan. For the 4wd version it is located behind an access panel in the front steering linkage shield on a remote filter adapter. See picture for shield location.

I'm not familiar with the vehicle so I can't help you with location specifics. I can tell you that it will not have any kind of cover. It will look like a beer can screwed to the side or bottom of the block.
