Help answer this question below.

My 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee with selectamatic 4WD and a security system. It's not in 4WD very often. All of a sudden it won't turn over. Is there a lock-out if the 4WD isn't disengaged when the vehicle is turned off? Had to have it towed today.
