I'm doing my part to support it. (no kids, not gonna have any...wouldn't be prudent at this juncture....;-D..) . . (see very end of video) . .

I think people should be able to have the amount of children they can afford..to house, clothe and educate, including college and graduate school and beyond. The problem seems to be this..the very wealthy generally have few children and the very unwealthy seem to have more than a few..and that's a problem! If we have zero population growth, humankind will die out...that will happen anyway, eventually..why hasten it?

Voluntary ZPG is the ONLY logical solution to poverty, war, environmental pollution, species extinction, global warming, Drought, famine, starvation, pandemic disease, homelessness, unwanted children, Genocide and the eventual destruction of our planet! There are Too Many People and not enough resources for all. This is a small planet. Quit having Babies.

Loaded question: how important are animals and nature? How much do we want to interfene with them? Do we really want to live everywhere? Are we having all those war´s just because we are overpopulated? (Heinstonn) (PS he was a big guy in cia under bush, read his book)

An idea that may be behind it's time. The sooner the better. You want kids so badly? Then adopt the ones already here.
-
I'm in it, for reasons already discussed. Zero population growth is good; actual reduction of the human population is better.
-
One of the more sensible and realistic ideas around.

It looks like we need to clarify the definition of zero population "GROWTH" for some of the readers / posters: It means the population stays at the current number (about 7,000,000,000 people) Birth=Death, no change. It does not mean humans going extinct! Zero Growth doesn't even suggest that we should be working on decreasing population. It suggests that a balance could be created between birth and death rates so that we don't overbreed ourselves right out of our habitat (Earth) I believe that as a species we need to work on both a decrease to a sustainable population size and then a level birth rate. This will have to be done through education, awareness of social responsibility and a shift in cultural attitudes about reproducing. - This ethic can not be forced on people.
