How does one remove the squirrel cage from the blower fan motor in a Subaru Forester 1998?

    If you haven't removed the motor/fan assembly unit yet, here's the procedure:

    Goto to page 34 of the .pdf file (AC-32 on the document)

    The replacement part is about $150.

    Note: There appears to be a technical service bulletin or recall relating to the blower motor resistor. Check with your dealer if that is the problem rather than the motor itself.

    I don't think it is removable, the service manual says the motor and fan are replaced as a unit.
