If my heart rate is elevated for a long period of time due to stress, can this have a damaging effect on me?

    This is actually shortening your lifespan with each beat, you see the thing that we consider dying of old age is actually the oxydization of the heart cells, the more oxygen enriched blood the heart pump, the more erosion occurs. With a heightened pulse your heart is wearing out faster and you will die younger.

    Yes, but look, you're 16, I doubt your heart-rate's up unless you've got a genetic disorder. Get it checked out by a doctor.
    I've just checked your profile - like your music choice - that may explain it if your bouncing to that lot - you may be over-stimulated! and I'd knock off Cohen... urggh... downer. Lisen to Mozart if you want to relax....
