  • As usual, it all depends on the translator/publisher. However, most translations are quite good, but be aware that they are not word for word, nor are they intended to be. The translator tries to convey the feeling, tone, essence of the original, sometimes as in poetry, even the rhythm of the language. This understandably makes it impossible to do an exact translation. Nothing can be as good as reading the work in the original language, but since most of us don't possess multilingual skills, the translations are a good substitute.
