From time to time most major car rental companies offer online coupons. they can be hard to find, or hard to find groups that distribute them. that link goes to Deals a great community for sharing deals, coupons and sales and stuff.

In addition to the excellent coupon sites mentioned already, if you have a Costco membership, AAA (or other auto club), if you are a member of a club, affiliation or organization or if your insurance company has a members website, check their for coupons and savings offers.

While I'm not sure about coupons, they do tend to give discounts for online bookings during certain times. the only problem is they would like you to give a credit card to guarantee the booking and this is when they get you.
