Well, this is probably subject to opinion. You would probably want to avoid buying things that are easily damaged or unlikely to EVER have a lower price unless damaged. For example, you wouldn't want to buy a popular electronic in an outlet store; chances are, it's damaged. In my experience, things like clothing, purses, and accessories are usually excellent to buy through outlet shopping. Oftentimes, this type of merchandise has been sent to the outlet store only because they are out of season or being discontinued. You can usually find great buys at outlet stores, and many high-end brands, such as Escada or Dooney & Bourke, have outlet stores with their products at lower prices while still being as high-quality as the merchandise in their regular stores.
