  • According to Encyclopedia Brittanica, the Great Plains of North America are about 1.35 million square miles. The West Siberian Plain comes in second at 1.2 million square miles. The Blue Planet Biomes website lists the African Savannah at 5 million square miles, but I don't believe that it's contiguous, and parts of what they label "savannah" may well be sufficiently mountainous to disqualify it. In any case, I couldn't find much data on the land area of flatlands in Africa.
