I use to. There were always people to talk to however I still felt alone. I would not do it now.

I do most of my drinking at home. The booze is cheaper, I don't have to worry about some freak slipping me a roofie or getting into a DWI incident. Even if I wasn't married and very cheap, I would never go out to a bar alone.

I went to the bar alone last night, it was a bit uncomfortable, but thankfully I knew people, I think the best way to go is going to the bar with someone who won't mind getting ditched and walking around talking to new people; which is what I normally do. Its a lot more fun if the place your going to is really busy too, if the place is completely dead; you feel like everyone is watching you or something...

I always used to be scared when I had to go out alone. The problem was that I moved to a new city (for my studies) and there was nobody there that i new and i could go out with. i was depressed until i took the decision to go out alone. I wasn't initially alone. I went with 2 friends, but then they wanted to leave and i was having too much fun to leave so I stayed. I lived in Houston at the time and lived about 5 miles from the club. As I was leaving the club and walking to teh car a car came up to me and this guy started talking to me. The passenger got out of his car and told me the driver was his dad. He didn't look old enough to be his dad, but he showed me his drivers license and so I said ok. They eventually talked me into going to breakfast with them, but instead of going to a restaurant, they went to a grocery store and bought bacon, eggs, and all that stuff. I begged them to take me home, they wouldn't. We ended up at their house and they got into a fight. One of them pulled a knife on the other one and I had to call 911. It was awful. The police had to take me to my car. I think the dad got arrested. It was embarrassing, and scary. I never did that again!

When I do, it's usually to meet with friends that are already there or on their way.
