  • i don't think so because religion and war are not inherently contradictory, particularly because "religion" can emcompass so many different ideologies. Now perhaps it would be an oxymoron to say a "Christian war" when Christianity explicitly says that killing is a sin.
  • Oxymorons involve two mutually exclusive concepts. Religion is the CAUSE of many wars. Therefore, the two concepts are not mutually exclusive... unless at least one of the religions claims to espouse peace and pacifism. Most sects of Christianity seem to have no problem with killing or violence, and I would argue that they are actually the most war-like of any of the major religions of the world.
  • Not at all. Religious wars have occurred all throughout history. Here are some true oxymorons... open secret, act naturally, alone together, Hell's Angels, found missing, deafening silence, seriously funny, living dead, military intelligence (ok that one is more of a jab at the military), and jumbo shrimp
  • Only for you if your religion is peace. See also this: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1173214 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxymoron
  • No, it's redundant.
