  • My kids have simple, somewhat original names. I'm thinking of naming the baby something more unique like Aurelia, if a girl or Straton, if a boy.
  • I would not saddle them with something that is easily manglable first name (like my name, first middle and last... people always mangle it), something that I remember being common to be made fun of, or anything linked to a popular person. I would look around and see what is out there and name the child something that I liked and would not bring him/her much grief. I would give the child one of my family's names as a middle and, poor sod, the child would be saddled with my last name, which is Polish. I know that s/he would have a lifetime of people mangling his/her last name.
  • it would be hard to say
  • Well my youngest daughters middle names are Miranda-katie :)
  • I like unique names, but not over-the-top unique...
  • I named my daughter Madeline. An older name from a time of more innocence. We call her Maddie and she’s the joy of my life. Plus if she goes into Soccer she could be called “MAD DOG”.
  • My oldest son is named Ariel. And yes, it was prior to Disney's Little Mermaid - I would never have done that to him on purpose! Ariel mens "Lion of God". My son was 2 1/2 months premature and had to fight like a lion for his life. His name meant something to me. So I guess, for me, it's a matter of heart, not rarity or popularity.
  • well i would say in the middle since i am a kid and my name is jolene so there you go !!!!
  • We chose names that we really liked no matter if they were popular or rare. I did make sure the initials didn't spell anything funny (PMS for example). The best way to decide on a name is to open the front door and scream it as loud as you can. Now you know what you'll sound like for the next 18 years. ;)
  • A name I made up, unique and with no stigmas!
  • Well, since Hubby and I both had the most common names of our generation (although we both often go by unusual nick names - mine's "Bear" lol), we decided to give our children names that were not common, but were also not completely strange.
  • Well we went with Dawson and Charis, neither of which is all that common. No, it had nothing to do with Dawson's Creek.
  • each child is unique why not have their names be as unique(my boys are malakii jack, raistlin adam, draven chance, and my baby girl taylor chyenne.)
  • I like unusual names that everyone doesnt have...like to be different so i named my son Dest'n
  • I like unique names best.
  • I like rare names. For instance, I love the name Jackson which isn't a rare name but if I were to have a son and name him that it would be Jaxon because I love the way it looks and it's different! I've always hated that my name was so common. But I don't like the kind of names that are grotesquely odd either.
  • We named our son Jacob, which has been the most popular boy's name for about five or six years running. We just liked the sound of it.
  • Well my little boys name is Jordan Mekhi I like popular names and also rare. So who has heard of his middle name ? I like it and i don't think he will get made fun of because of it.
