Star Wars franchise grossed at LEAST 4 billion dollars!

Heres a very interesting chart of earnings:
    (In Millions)
Name of Movie Domestic Earnings Overseas Earnings Total
    Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace $ 431.1 $ 494.4 $ 925.5

    Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones $ 310.7 $ 337.6 $ 648.3

    Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith $ 380.3 $ 468.1 $ 848.4

    Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope $ 461.0 $ 339.1 $ 798.0

    Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back $ 290.2 $ 243.7 $ 533.9

    Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi $ 309.1 $ 263.7 $ 572.9

Total worldwide box office gross from the numbers here: 4,327,000,000. Thats over 4 billion!!! The thing is, thats not even including all the spinoffs, toys, books, and cartoon and everything else! You also need to take into account how much each movie cost to make. For example episode 3 grossed 380 million domestically but it took 113 million just to MAKE!!

Aside from the original release in 1977, he re-released it once in 1982 and again in 1997 as a re-edited and digitally enhanced "special edition." Lucas did the same for the 1980 The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Return of the Jedi. Over the course of 28 years, those films and their modern counterparts, The Phantom Menace from 1999, Attack of the Clones from 2002, and Revenge of the Sith from 2005, have grossed $6.52 billion globally when adjusted for inflation. Assuming an average ticket price of $6.25, that would buy more than a billion movie tickets--enough for every person in the U.S. to see it three times.
