  • There's always a chance of developing keloids regardless of if you've had them before or not. I've known people who got keloids when getting their ears pierced but had absolutely no problems when they got their nose pierced. The only real way to know is to try it out. Keep in mind that you can always use tea tree oil to get rid of a keloid if you do get one!
  • If you're prone to keloids, you are at risk of getting them with any injury. Are you sure you mean keloids, as in scar tissue that keeps growing beyond the site of injury? Or do you mean abcesses, painful bumps of pus and lymph fluid? Or possibly hypotrophic scarring, small bumps that don't get bigger? Knowing what the bump really is is essential for treating it. People often call piercing bumps keliods when they are usually something less serious.
