There are many. Without meditation, there can be no enlightenment. Meditation is the beginning step to the conscious control of internal organs. There can be no Chi control without meditation. When meditation is practiced constantly, during absolutely every single waking instant, the body learns to move as part of the moving and flowing meditation, and advanced self control becomes possible. Without the deep internal controls that can only be developped with meditation, there can be no control of external energies, such as absorbing static electricity and then transforming that into Chi, then storing it for use at a later time. .

clear thinking. calmer mind. once you get to a deeper level in meditation, it can increase your intuition, which in turn develop psychic abilities. By the way these are from my own experiences and wouldnt say otherwise.

Calmness, a sense of warmth and well being, ability to decrease judgment of the world, ability to live in the moment, reason to drink tea, and, as baby ghost said, a heightened sense of intuition (which to me is so important since the decisions I make when I follow my inner voice are always right). There are a lot. As stupid as it seems, staring at the wall for 30 minutes a day can improve your life.(:
