  • Usually a tumor pressing on and stimulating the pituitary gland causing excessive release of growth hormone, hence the full name, Pituitary Gigantism. Doctors will scan the brain and try to remove the tumor surgically (also, though the growth can be aggressive, if I remember correctly, they tend to be benign). With home modification, people suffering from Pituitary Gigantism can live normal lives for a long time. The average life expectancy is shorter than for the average healthy adult, however.
