Most likely many animals would perish too since there are so many good bacteria that they are dependent upon for survival. remember that there are a lot of malignant viruses that would love to do a number on us and having a strong micro-orgasmic defense may be the key to good immunity in this life of ours.

The end of the civilization would soon follow...bacteria is a neccessary part of the ecosystem and many life forms would become extinct (including humans). As much as we hate those pesky bugs, they really are neccessary :)
