Depending on your definition of component, this could vary. The basic and easiest answer, the heaviest component in the plane is the fuel. It accounts for the largest single portion of weight on the plane. Now if the planes tanks were empty, it could be any number of other things. It could be the combined weight of people, furnishings, or the engines. If you say its the engines, another problem arises. Each engine is not just a single component but has many of its own components within. Therefore, the quickest and easiest answer here is the fuel. I could also say, the heaviest component is the list of components - taken with the wink it deserves.
