  • Great question Rosie. In the last 3 years, I find myself getting the "blah's" when fall comes around and it starts getting dark right as I am leaving work. I suspect, actually, that it is a vitamin D deficiency from not getting sunlight. Some folks take Vitamin D supplements and go to tanning booths to get balanced. I just get fat, grow extra hair and hibernate.
  • Mood-wise, I am pretty much the same all the time. I do get down on rainy, cold days and would love to just snuggle up somewhere with a mug of mulled cider and a good book (or the remote control). I think it is mostly due to the aches and pains that result from cold, damp weather, but I usually take a pill and just trudge on. The holidays don't get me down--in fact, really just the opposite. I am unusually cheerful and giving and kind and considerate during the season, something I wish I was more of all year.
  • Weather where I live is not that variable season-wise, they're not as distinct as say, the U.S.A., so it doesn't affect my mood. Perhaps I get a little down sometimes on rainy days but not enough to alter my overall mood considerably. Also I like this part of the year very much, I just hate crowds in shopping malls, for example, luckily my wife and I have done most of the shopping already : )
  • The time of the year doesn't affect my mood. I know people who get depressed by the holidays and by winter in general. I don't mind the winter.
  • I seem to become lathargic in the winter. It is dark when I get home from work so I close the curtains and settle down for a night in and very often go to bed early. I tend to lack enthusiasm for anything. Christmas picks me rght back up (for about 2 weeks) then I go back down again. In the summer I am never in the house I am always out and about, I seem to be brimming with energy and enthusiasm. I am generally in a much happier framne of mind.
