Is it safe to drink water from the sink? I saw someone filling up their water bottle in the sink... (I live in dorms)

I don't know where you are from, but tap water is safe in the U.S. and in France (Probably the rest of Europe, but I have only lived in France.). If you mean the actual sink had been filled and they weren't putting it directly from the tap, but from water that had been filled in the sink, then that is gross. It probably won't kill you, but is nasty none-the-less. If you mean directly from the tap though, it is probably as safe if not safer than bottled water.

Absolutely safe! In fact, recently there have been study's that tap water is even safer then the bottled water every buys!

I also saw something on 20/20 where bottled water actually contains 20% of tap water.
