Border Collies are very smart and easily trainable.
The Australian Cattle dog is another good choice.
Here is a great tool that will help you select a dog: http://selectsmart.com/DOG/
Border Collie.
They have one of the biggest brains for the dogs size and they are extremely intelligent.
Poodles and poodle mixes are very trainable in terms of tricks.
Retrievers and Border Collies excel at obedience.
Terriers are a nightmare to train... they're smart, but anarchistic and stubborn. I love 'em to death but if you want an easy-to-train dog, avoid terriers at all costs! :D
I have a Yorkshire Terrier. Very loving, very smart, but hard to train.
...a man :X im just kidding sorry guys...i would probably have to say german shepard because even police units use them so they must train quickly
I have had both poodles and German Shepherds, both are very intelligent and easily trained!
It really depends on your lifetsyle and what you are looking for. I wouldn't get a dog solely based on it's trainability...many very trainable dogs may not meet your needs and your lifestyle.
Border collies, as many have suggested are extremely intelligent and bright but require a great deal of exercise and attention from their owners.
I personally vouch for the doberman...a phenomenal dog and highly intelligent and easy to train, but most certainly not for everyone. Dobies, like shepards are quite smart but are very strong/dominant dogs by nature. In order to make a good family dog they need a very consistent, firm and kind owner that knows how to work with more 'strong natured' dogs. They typically would not make good dogs for first time owners.
All breeds have their benefits and devoted followers, it really depends on your preferences and needs. If you are looking for an obedience champion you probably are looking for a border collie, a shepard, a dobie or a retriever. If you just want a dog that will quickly learn basic commands (sit, down, stay etc.) any dog can learn those quickly with a consistent, firm and fair owner.
As long as it's not an 'Old' one..apparently you can't teach them new tricks? :D x
my daushounds were VERY easy to train. both very intellegent, and they even know sign language.
Border Collies. I have one and they are totally obendient if you train them probabey. my dog, Ben, knows all of the basic tricks and he even knows how to herd sheep. There is my dog, Ben, with my brother, Rod. Ben is so cute when he is a pup!

My dad had quite a few dogs and his poodle was by far the quickest to learn tricks and obediance. It was also very loyal and friendly.

Border Collies are good. I also like Labs and Goldens. High in energy, but also smart and eager to please. Smart and eager to please is a great starting place.
Border Collies, Lab Retrievers and the german breeds Shepherds,Doberman and rottweiller
Definetely the Border Collie.
He has the intelligence of a four year old human.
Wife and i have to spell words.
Our border collie has a monumental vocabulary.
Border Collie and Labrador Retriever
Well I have to say German Shepards I have owned three and they have all pretty much trained themselves...excellent dogs..
first you with your dog run, sekond you trhow a fried chicken in from of your dog if your dog can, you give it a good food. and repeat again every day.......ok!!

Bordier Collies are extremely intelligent and easy to train, but with the warning that they are EXTREMELY active dogs and need a great amount of exercise and stimulation to make good house dogs. They are not a dog that you can expect to entertain themseleves and lay around and sleep all day!!! If you do not give them what they need (as with any dog) they will become bored and very destructive and obnoxious!! So avoid higher energy breeds unless you have a more active lifestyle.
