Where is the backup light switch on a 1989 Chevy K1500 4x4 Silverado with Automatic tranny?

It is located in the cab on the steering column near the fire wall. Try adjusting it first. Firmly set the parking brake and or block the wheels. Place the gearselect selector in neutral, on the switch ratchet it to the right as far as it will go, place the gearselect lever in park the switch is adjusted. If it still does not work replace the switch and adjust.
