Why does gum lose its flavor?

My best guess would be that you chew all the sweetener out of it, and its all down hill from there. Great question : )

It just gets diluted with your saliva and the digestive juices in your mouth goes to work on it and dissolves even more of it. It's like a lollipop that melts in your mouth. It's gone, swallowed.

you get use to the flavor and the sweetness gets sucked out of the gum so thats the answer.

because gum has sugar and syrup when you chew it you are sucking all the flavor out then all your chewing is a guey substance. thank you
