The saying "dangerous curves" comes from the roa warning sign "DANGER - CURVES AHEAD" The sign has the text and a sinuous arrow that looks like half an exaggerated woman's figure. It was a short jump to imagine the other half of the silhouette to picture the full package. It was an ever shorter jump to say that a woman who had a figure that was bust- and hip-heavy with a narrow waist had "dangerous curves".
