It's very difficult to have heroes now. We seem to think heroes need to be either perfect or anti-heroes. We have lost our ability, it seems, to appreciate men and women who go above and beyond because they either lack all the attributes we think they need to be considered heroes, or we think that our heroes should be flawed to the point of having no personal integrity or character at all.
