Many people do engage in double talk.

Because on a deeper level they realize how cool the West is.

Several theories: 1. They want the benefits without realising the mindset that achieved them 2. They want to destroy the West gradually. 3. They are hypocrites. I suppose there are other theories...take your pick.

Because, I think, they want all the benefits of a Western Civilisation but do not want the responsibilities and obligations that go with it. They same reason people leave their countries of birth because they are oppressed and starving and in danger of their lives and come to 'western' countries and then engage in the very activities that they left to escape. Humans are perverse!

There is a lot about our civilisation I don't like. A lot I do. But I am more likely to be heard moaning about the bits I don't like in order to try and improve them. The bits that are established and I like are well... established and don't need too much discussion unless they come under attack (like freedom of speech which I do defend as it is under attack a fair bit right now, one of the elements I don't like by the way...), then I will discuss them as much. You don't spend as much time working on an engine that is running smoothly as you do on one that is completely broken. A little tune up now and again yes but not a full overhaul :)

You want to know why? Because in the west, for all its faults there exists a system that at least gives everyone the hope of achievement. If they have the talent and a lot of luck they have a shot. In other parts of the world no matter how talented, or brilliant you are if you are not fortunate enough to be born into the right family you are doomed. End of story. Oh.. and we have McDonald's and the freedom to say whatever you like without getting your head cut off. Unfortunately, I am not exaggerating.
