  • I know for a fact they aren't. I work in a casino, and long before I joined the IT Department, I was a Game Technician and was responsible for setting the Hold Percentages on nearly all of our 4400 games. The Gaming Commission sets strict payout rules based on local/state/federal laws and they must be adhered to STRICTLY. If not, they're subject to $10,000-$30,000 dollar fines. You can't just pick a game or two across the floor and give it a better hold percentage. And hold percentages aren't changed lightly either... For us to change a game: You need a Security Officer, Gaming Commission officer (to unlock logic box of game) and you must notify surveillance that you're accessing logic.. then they watch your every move... I guess that's a little overkill, sorry lol Also note: Those 'mechanical' slots you all like playing so much are just as microprocessed as the video slots ^_^ No advantage one way or the other
  • no because casinos are not in the buisness of giving out money.
  • Thanks Atillion, you are correct (it was a rhetorical question to illicit responses from slot players). Your description of the process is pretty accurate for most casinos. The reality is that there are no slot programs (except tournament) that have payback percentages available to choose from that are at or above 100%. There are a small number of poker programs with an optimum return slightly over 100% but they can't be used in some jurisdictions. Rick The Slot Guru
