Well the first day God rested was Sunday. The first day of our week is Sunday and we should rest. I think this is so we will start our week off refreshed and closer to God.

Actually, Sunday is the first day of the week, and God rested on a Saturday. That's why the Jewish sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. But when Christ came and died for our sins, He rose again on the third day, which was a Sunday, switching the day of worship from Saturday, the end of the week, to Sunday, the beginning of the week, symbolizing a new beginning for believers.

God rested on the 7th day which was a Saturday. Do you seriously think that the Old Testament was from a Christian perspective? How Naïve are you?

Saturday is the seventh day, which is why it is the Jewish Sabbath. The old testament is essentially a jewish text....Where do you think Christianity stemmed from? Christ was jewish! Sunday was considered the sabbath for christians because it stemmed from the pagan day of celebration. Many so-called christian pratices/holidays stem from pagan practices. The two were merged in order to make christianity less 'traumatic' for the masses to convert to. Google: Emperor Constantine if you want more info.
