  • how much diesel did you put in it? if its not a lot, fill the truck w/ gas a run it .it will run lousy and smoke for a while but it wont really hurt it. if you've put a lot in it.check the bottom of the fuel tanks and see if there is a drain plug. remove the plug and drain the tanks..if theres no plug,go to wal mart and it the outdoor equipment section they should have a battery powered siphon...siphon out the fuel and just fill the truck up w/gas.
  • A lot of new vehicles have a roll over valve in the tank so you can't siphon fuel out. I would just disconnect a fuel like and jump the terminals at the relay and let it pump it self out.

  • Any damage is already done, but the extent depends greatly on the proportion of diesel to gas in the tank. Most tanks have drain holes at the bottom. For obvious reasons, they are hard to open. Wear eye protection, old raggy clothes, gloves, and a face shield. Lay down an old blanket, then a wide and high capacity drain pan. I recommend having kitty litter nearby should any big spills occur. I would check how much fuel is in the system first, then estimate the capacity you will need (always add 20L to your estimate). You may want to enlist the help of one or two others for this, or simply have it towed to a garage. Most plugs screw out, so you will need the appropriate tools. When it comes out it will be under pressure so have the pan ready to slide under as you slide out. The blanket should catch and absorb any spillage. Once it's all drained, replace the plug. Your truck should have a fuel rail. Get a small container to catch the fuel, then try to drain the fuel rail. It will not have much pressure since the pump is not on, but you are trying to get as much of the diesel out as possible. Replace the cap on the rail, then add about 5L of fuel to the tank. Get in, crank, and hope to the car gods that they forgive your mistake. If it fires up, let it run all the way to the gas station (and for at least 10mins). Fill it up with GAS and drive around the city. Make sure you get all the little deposits of diesel out. If it doesn't, time to call the tow truck. On the upside, you will save labour costs at the garage. As for the fuel call the local authorities for disposal rules. Hope this helps, Good luck
