  • Mine does. However, not by name. It says someting like "Unknown Cellular", states where the phone's "area" is (Washington DC for example) and then the actual cellular phone number. My Dad calls from his all the time, so that is what pops up on my Caller ID when he does. Naturally, this does not apply if the individual has their cellular settings configured to not show up on Caller IDs.
  • I'm from Australia so I don't know if our phones operate in the same manner. Here in Australia, out caller ID does identify users using cell phones unless the caller has set their cell phone on "private" or "no number sending". This means that when they call, "private number" will appear on your screen. This is the same for landline telephones. You can change your number to private by going into your cell phone's settings and turning the "number sending" function off. I hope this helps.
  • I have the same question, yet can offer my limited experience for my area: In a dozen or so calls to my Maryland number, no cell caller's name has ever appeared. All I see is the number and words like "Cellular One," "U.S. Cellular," or "Wireless Caller."
  • Yes. if you have caller id, on a home-based phone, the cell phone number received, will appear on the recipients caller id.
  • No, at least not with my phone carrier. the only way to determine this is by recognizing or not recognizing the callers phone number.
  • The Cell # will show up, but a name wont unless you program it into your home phone. Some phones cant do it though.
  • yes it does
  • I used to have AT&T (or Cingular or whatever they are calling themselves this week) as my Cell carrier. They were able to program my caller ID to show my name rather than 'wireless caller' along with the number. My current provider (Virgin Mobile) says that they federal law prohibits them from including the name on the ID. {After telling them that previous provider did, they said that my local land line provider hadn't updated their records yet, and that was why it shows up without the name.} So, you need to contact your Cell provider, and ask them to list your name rather than their standard cell statement.
  • Not all Cell phone companies provide the name of the phone user calling from a cell phone. Mine doesn't as a matter of privacy for their customers.
  • In all states, the wireless number of a cell phone will appear on the Caller ID, but in some states, the name is not displayed, only "Cellular Call", but in others, the name does appear. This also varies by carrier. In some states, each carrier may pass different informaiton. You can request to have your caller ID blocked from your cell phone, if you like. You have this option with all the carriers. Thanks. SukiSue
