Assuming the truck has an interior hood release, if the hood isn't closed completely or accurately, it can cause a jam. Before attempting to 'open' it, you might want to try 'closing it' a little more first by pushing down on the end of it a few times. This can sometimes free it from being jammed. The second effort would be to have one person attempt to jiggle the end of the hood up-and-down while the other person releases the hood from the interior of the truck. It is sometimes necessary to have the hood release held open while the hood is shaken free from being jammed. Lastly, the hood release cable may be stretched or broken. This can sometimes be bypassed by accessing the hood release mechanism from under the front end of the truck and attempting to release it from there with a pair of pliers. Good luck.
